National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE), India’s leading exchange successfully launched Weekly Options on US Dollar Indian Rupee.
NSE witnessed excellent participation in the weekly options contracts on USD-INR. Day one recorded a turnover of 2.34 lakh contracts and saw an open interest of 93,599 contracts in weekly options.
Vikram Limaye, MD & CEO of NSE, said, “There was a demand from market participants to manage their currency risk in a more efficient and cost effective manner keeping in mind key events and announcements domestic and international which impact currency value. With the launch of weekly option contracts on USD-INR market participants can now manage their currency risk more effectively”
